ENG 112 - Week 15

I have liked all the tools that we have used through out english. My favorite is the delicious, I think that I will use it a lot. I have not used wiki at all except for the assignment, I think that I will play around with it some more to see exactly what it does. I do like the blog, but I don't believe I will use it after this class.

ENG 112 - Week 14

I have been looking at other wesites that has reviews of Of Mice and Men. I have also been looking up information on J. Steinbeck. I believe that having some background information on him I may be able to understand him better, then in turn better answer my thesis question? Is the book Of Mice and Men about society?

ENG 112 - Week 12

I had originally want to writ emy paper on literary essay on Khaled Hosseini, who is the auther Kite Runner. After some thought though I believe I would like to write my literary essay on the book Of Mice and Men. I have decided on this book because when ever I try to think of a favorite book this is the one that I think of. I think that I would be abloe to do alot with this book.

ENG 112 - Week 11

So I have been working on my paper and trying to organize it in a way that won't confuse my reader. I have also been continuing to work on my survey as part of my field research. There really has been no change, no change in being finding anyone who can answer more then one question with out guessing. I am excited to say though I have found some one to interview. I was having a hard time because there are not any support groups in the area. My Mom introduced me to David Clements, who I will get to interview on this coming Monday.

ENG 112 - Week 10

So as far as my feild research I have not been ableto find support groups iin this area, as previously posted. So I have decided to do survey on Lou Gehrigs awareness. I still have surveys out, but on the ones that I do have in it show that there is not to much awareness about this disease. It will be interesting to see what the final outcome will be when all the surveys are back in. I am considering traveling so that I can go to a support group, just for that different angle and understanding.

ENG 112 - Week 9

As far as working on paper goes I have been just trying to figure out what information I want from which source. I didn't realize how much information there actually was.

I have also been looking up where support groups are for Lou Gehrigs disease, that way when the time comes it won't take me as long to find someone to interview. When I was researching different support group that I could possibly sit in on, I saw that the nearest ones are in Denver.

I am going to be cautting and pasting to information to kind of see how I would like the paper to read.

I have also been searching in books at the library and I have received the book that I requested a bit ago from the Aurora Library. The title of the book is Lou Gehrigs Disease written by Melissa Abramovitz.

ENG 112 - Week 4

I have started looking at some books online and have requested some to be delivered to the Mesa State library to use for my paper. So far I do not have all the information that I need to post, due to the fact that the books have not been delivered, but I do have some. Two of the books that I have rented from online is Lou Gehrigs Disease written by Melissa Abramovitz, and Is it in Your Genes? The Influence of Genes on Common Disorders and Disease that Effect You and Y written by Philip Reilly.

I was going to go to the library and do some more research with books that I can actually use right away....but the library is closed on Monday because of Presidents Day....I forgot about that. So I will have to go on Tuesday instead.

ENG 112 - Week 3

This week I am in the process of trying to set up my over the phone interview a representative for the ALS Association. I am also looking to find patients with ALS that are willing to talk about there disease with me.

I am still in the process of this weeks assignment and will be posting more as I go through this week.

ENG112-Week 2

This is only the beginning of week two but I already have something to say. I knew there was a lot of things that I didn't know, but some of it is hitting close to home. I believe this is something that I can use to my advantage though! I will post more through out the rest of week.

So far with my exploration I have found out that there are actually three different types of lou gehrigs disease (ALS), which was a suprise to me. I thought ALS was ALS.

My research question is: Cases of Lou Gehrigs Disease (ALS) is increasingly showing up even though few know about the disease, what is new research showing on signs/symptoms of the disease? Is there any treatments to stop/slow down the disease? What percentage of people are developing the disease?

ENG112-Week 1

As of right now I am just trying to decide what to write on. I origanally thought I wanted to write on Pakistan and Israel conflict, but it turns out that after a little more research it was not what I thougyht it would be. My second idea was the crusades.

However, the crusades was not my last idea. My last and final idea is lou gehrigs disease. The resaon for me wanting to do this is two resaons. The first is that I heard from another student that they were told they were aloud to use their anatomy and physiology research paper for their english as well. The second, my Grandma passed away from the disease two years ago. I want to know more about the disease that had so mucvh impact on me.
